According to KhabarOnline, the National Meteorological Organization has issued a yellow marine warning regarding an increase in wind speed and wave height in the Persian Gulf and coastal areas of Hormozgan Province from Saturday afternoon until Sunday (June 30 and July 1). It further stated that tomorrow, in the coastal and offshore areas of Hormozgan Province, in the eastern Persian Gulf and western Strait of Hormuz, and on Sunday (July 1) in the coastal and offshore areas of Hormozgan and southern Bushehr provinces, an increase in maximum wind speed is expected to reach 20-24 knots, along with a rise in maximum wave height up to 1.5 meters in coastal and offshore areas (especially on Saturday).
ISNA reported that, based on this information, there is a risk of drowning for swimmers and divers, tearing of fishing nets, damage to fish farming cages, disruptions in maritime traffic, and the movement of fishing boats, light and medium vessels, as well as disruptions in the operations of passenger and commercial vessels and offshore activities, including oil platforms. In this context, the National Meteorological Organization has advised caution in recreational and fishing activities, careful navigation for light and medium vessels, and the implementation of necessary restrictions and measures for coastal and offshore activities and oil platform operations, as well as preparedness for potential damages.
A yellow warning indicates that a weather phenomenon will occur that may disrupt travel and daily activities. This warning is issued to inform the public so they can be adequately prepared to face a weather phenomenon that is somewhat more intense than usual.
