Trans Caspian Urial (Ovis Cycloceros Arkali)  

The Trans Caspian Urial exists in the Razavi, North and South Khorasan provinces. The Kope Dag is the most important habitat of the pure Trans Caspian Urial with a white beard. The most famous protected area in Razavi province is Heydari. In North Khorasan, the Saluk and Sary Gol are the other important protected areas, which are home to the Trans Caspian Urial.

Afghan Urial (Ovis Vignei Cycloceros)

The Afghan Urial is indeed found in Iran, particularly in the northeast and eastern regions. More specifically, its range includes the Razavi and South Khorasan provinces in Iran. One significant area mentioned is the Darmian protected area in the eastern province of South Khorasan

Esfahan Sheep (Ovis Aries Isphanica)

The Esfahan Sheep is native to Iran and is primarily found in the Zagros mountains, particularly in the lower parts of the central Zagros mountains near the historic city of Isfahan. In Yazd province there is also the possibility to see the Esfahan Sheep which is in the Mansour Abad Dorbid protected area and Marvar hunting reserve. The Abbas Abad, Ghamishloo, Mooteh and Kolah Ghazi protected areas are some of the examples of the other places where this species exists.

Armenian Sheep (Ovis Orientalis Jemelini)

Armenian Sheep exist mostly in the Zagros mountains in the west and northwest of Iran, such as in the Marakan, Haftad Goleh, Angoran and Kaboodan protected areas.

Shiraz Sheep (Ovis orientalis)

Shiraz Sheep which is one of the rare sheep in Iran, exists in the province of Fars, North of Hormozgan province and also on the border of Yazd and Fars provinces. Bamoo, Haji Abad and Brouiyeh in Bavanat are some of the best places to find the Ram.

Kerman Sheep (Ovis Cycloceros Cycloceros x Ovis Laristanica)

Kerman Sheep is another sheep Which exists in Kerman province. Saadi hunting reserve and Bidouyeh hunting reserve are some of the places which we could mention. There is also another hunting reserve nearby the city of Rafsanjan which is the Mansourabad hunting reserve.

Laristan Sheep (Ovis Orientalis Laristanica)

The Laristan Sheep is the smallest sheep in the world which only exists in Iran. The provinces of Hormozghan, Boushehr and Fars are the main places of Laristan Sheep. Hormood protected are in Fars and the highlands of Bandar Lengeh near the Persian Gulf are the best places to find the Laristan Sheep. The Geno protected area is also one of the most famous protected areas for Laristan Sheep which are located in Hormozghan province.

Red Sheep (Ovis Orientalis SP)

The Red Sheep habitat is located in the central part of the Alborz mountain. Varjin hunting area which was the ex-Royal reserve, is nowadays one of the most important reserves of Iran for Red Sheep.Parvar and Jashloobar hunting reserves are also the other important reserves.

Arak Sheep (Ovis orientalis arakica)

The Arak sheep is a breed of wild sheep found in Iran, particularly in the region around the city of Arak in the Zagros Mountains. It is believed to be a hybrid species, possibly a cross between the Armenian sheep and the Esfahan sheep. As a breed adapted to the rugged, high-mountain plateau of the Zagros Mountains, the Arak sheep are known for their hardiness. 

Persian Desert Ibex and Bezoar Ibex

There are two kinds of Ibex which exist in different parts of Iran.

Bezoar Ibex (Capra Hircus Aegagrus)

The Bezoar Ibex mostly exists in the Alborz mountains. In provinces such as Tehran, Mazandaran, East Azerbaijan, West Azerbaijan, North Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, Shahre Kord, and Semnan, there is the possibility to find trophy size Bezoar Ibex.

Persian Desert Ibex (Capra Aegagrus)

The Persian Desert Ibex exists in dry provinces of Iran such as Yazd, Kerman, Hormozghan and Fars provinces. In Yazd Kalmand, Mansour Abad Doorbid, Rubaz and Ali Abad Chehel Gazi are among the other protected areas.

Persian Gazelle (Goitered Gazelle)

The Persian Gazelle exists in provinces such as Esfahan, Khorasan Razavi and North Khorasan. The Mooteh protected area is one of the most famous and well-known areas for Gazelles.
