According to KhabarOnline, Hassan Abbas Nejad highlighted the recent sighting of an Iranian leopard within the boundaries of the Lar protected hunting area, stating that the presence of this valuable species reflects the high ecological capacity of the region and underscores the importance of continuing conservation programs to protect natural habitats.

He noted that the Iranian leopard is considered a key species and is at risk of extinction in the country. He added that preserving this valuable species requires ensuring the security of habitats, ongoing protection of managed areas, and the involvement of local communities in safeguarding biodiversity.

Abbas Nejad further stated that the sighting of the Iranian leopard in the Lar protected hunting area confirms the effectiveness of conservation efforts and the tireless work of rangers in monitoring and protecting this valuable habitat, highlighting the necessity of continuing these efforts.

The Director General of the Tehran Environmental Protection Agency urged citizens, tourists, and livestock herders to remain calm and avoid approaching, chasing, or disturbing wildlife if they encounter such species. He emphasized the importance of reporting any sightings to the nearest environmental unit or rangers.

He stressed that the protection of valuable wildlife species is only achievable through the participation and cooperation of the public, and adhering to the principles of coexistence with nature plays a crucial role in preserving the province’s natural resources for future generations.
