According to the Mehrnews, Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, stated in a message on one of the social media platforms: “Safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz cannot be guaranteed with ambiguous arrangements, parallel routes, or decision-making that disregards Iran’s considerations as a coastal state.” He emphasized that any valid framework must be based on coordination with Iran and the provisions of paragraph five of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, adding, “Otherwise, the result will be the suspension of the designated parallel route.”
