Yahya Youssefpour, the governor of Chalous, emphasized the importance of the aquatic resources of the Caspian Sea in an interview with Mehrnews on the sidelines of the event. He stated that this water body is considered one of the most valuable ecosystems in the region, and the protection of its aquatic reserves requires continuous planning and specialized actions.
He added that in recent years, the pressure from overfishing had threatened some of the aquatic reserves of the Caspian Sea; however, the implementation of protective and restoration plans by the fisheries organization has played a significant role in revitalizing these resources.
The governor of Chalous regarded the release of over one million juvenile fish in Namak Abroud as an effective measure towards the sustainability of fishery reserves and noted that the continuation of such programs could aid in preserving biodiversity and supporting the livelihoods of those who depend on this sector.
He also emphasized the necessity of collaboration among all responsible agencies in protecting the natural resources and valuable aquatic reserves of the Caspian Sea.
