According to the Mehrnews, Mohammad Javad Ashrafi spoke with reporters this morning, Wednesday, regarding the latest status of firefighting operations. He stated that significant portions of the affected areas have been extinguished; however, in one location, due to the difficult terrain and the inability to deploy operational forces, the fire continues to burn.

He noted that firefighting efforts commenced from the very first hours of the incident, utilizing the capabilities of six fire engines. The operational teams have successfully controlled and contained the fire in all areas where ground access was possible.

The Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency of Khuzestan emphasized that necessary arrangements are currently being made to dispatch two equipped vehicles with high operational capacity and greater water discharge capabilities. It is anticipated that within the next two to three hours, complete extinguishing operations and cooling of the affected areas will conclude.

He expressed gratitude for the round-the-clock efforts of the firefighters and operational personnel, highlighting that the Environmental Protection Agency of Khuzestan will continuously monitor and pursue the operations until the fire is fully extinguished and the area is secured.
