According to KhabarOnline, Mohammad Shakouhi announced on Monday, February 8, during an interview with ISNA in Savadkuh that they were informed of a leopard attack on two individuals in the Kangleh area yesterday afternoon (Sunday). He added that upon receiving the news, coordination was immediately made with the Red Crescent, and an ambulance along with rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were transferred to the Shohada Hospital in Zareab, where necessary medical treatment was provided.
Shakouhi detailed the incident, stating that the two individuals were attacked by the leopard while they were with their sheep in the pasture, as the leopard apparently intended to prey on the livestock. Both individuals sustained injuries to their heads and faces, and the specifics of the incident will be assessed once they recover. Additionally, one of the residents of Kangleh confirmed that the leopard attacked with the intention of hunting sheep, resulting in injuries and fractures for both individuals, with one sustaining more severe injuries.
According to this report, the mountainous region of Kangleh is considered one of the habitats of leopards in Savadkuh, and in recent years, with the increasing population of this endangered species, there have been occasional encounters with livestock owners and local residents.
