Immediate Action Required from Authorities to Save Miankaleh

According to the Mehrnews, Abbas Pouryani, prior to the Friday prayers in Sari, commemorated the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his loyal companions on the occasion of Judiciary Week. He honored the memory of the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, the Sacred Defense, the defenders of the shrine, and the recent martyrs, stating that the security, dignity, and power of the country today are owed to the sacrifices of martyrs and the selflessness of those who laid down their lives to defend Islam, the Revolution, and the people.

He expressed gratitude for the presence and insight of the people in various arenas, adding that the Iranian nation, inspired by the culture of Ashura, has always stood by the system and the Revolution, and this solidarity is a valuable asset for the country.

Pouryani referred to the philosophy of the Ashura uprising, stating that Imam Hussein (PBUH) rose to reform society and revive the obligation of enjoining good and forbidding wrong. He emphasized that this obligation is not limited to a few specific issues but encompasses all aspects of individual, family, social, and administrative life.

He continued, stating that upholding justice, respecting the people, honoring clients, safeguarding citizens’ rights, and combating injustice are among the most significant manifestations of enjoining good and forbidding wrong. He warned that indifference to these matters exacerbates social and moral harms.

The head of the Mazandaran Judiciary described the judiciary as a refuge for the people and a defender of public rights. He noted that the implementation of the transformation and elevation document of the judiciary has been pursued in recent years in accordance with the policies outlined by the head of the judiciary and within the framework of the Constitution, with a concerted effort to more vigorously pursue the rights of the people.

He identified the revival of public rights as one of the judiciary’s most important missions, stating that many longstanding issues in the province, which had remained unresolved for years, have been addressed through the judiciary’s intervention.

Pouryani highlighted one of these initiatives, mentioning the issue of providing drinking water to several villages in the Kiasar and Chowardangeh regions, which had persisted despite a directive from the Supreme Leader during his visit to the province in 1995. This issue was resolved through the judiciary’s follow-up, setting deadlines for executive agencies, and collaboration with officials, allowing residents of these areas to access clean drinking water.

He also reported the resolution of the water supply issue for the vocational training and therapy camp at Sari Prison, which had lacked adequate drinking water for years. This problem was addressed in collaboration with the Water and Wastewater Company and the Prisons Organization, enabling the implementation of this project to benefit dozens of surrounding villages from the water network.

Pouryani expressed concern over the condition of the Miankaleh wetland and peninsula, stating that Miankaleh is an international wetland and one of the country’s most valuable natural assets, the protection of which is the responsibility of all relevant agencies, especially the Environmental Protection Organization.

He added that the drying up of parts of this wetland and the formation of dust centers have intensified the need for immediate action and serious planning to restore this ecosystem.

The head of the Mazandaran Judiciary referred to the goals of the Ashura uprising, stating that Imam Hussein (PBUH), aware of the hardships ahead and the prospect of martyrdom, rose to fulfill his divine duty and reform the community. In his will, he also identified the revival of enjoining good and forbidding wrong as the purpose of this movement.

Pouryani emphasized that unfortunately, this important obligation has somewhat faded in today’s society. He reiterated that enjoining good and forbidding wrong is not confined to a few specific issues but encompasses all areas of individual, family, social, and administrative life.

He continued, stating that mutual respect within families, honoring the rights of spouses and children, respecting clients, accountability of managers, upholding justice, good conduct with the public, and attention to their legal demands are all examples of good. Conversely, disrespect, injustice, discrimination, and neglect of people’s rights are considered manifestations of wrongdoing.

The head of the Mazandaran Judiciary stressed that if society remains indifferent to these issues, moral and social harms will proliferate, and the repercussions will extend to families as well.
