Hasan Amiri stated in an interview with Mehrnews that the environmental protection unit of this county successfully identified and apprehended a group of illegal fishers during their continuous patrols and monitoring of water resources.
He added that while carrying out their supervisory missions, the officers became suspicious of the illegal activities of these individuals in fishing and, after timely action, managed to identify and arrest the offenders.
The head of the environmental protection department of Sanqur-Kolayi County emphasized the discoveries made during this operation, stating that several fish caught illegally were confiscated during the inspection, along with the equipment and tools used for fishing.
Amiri stressed the importance of taking firm action against environmental violators, stating that in order to protect natural resources and aquatic life, a case has been filed against the arrested individuals, and the suspects have been referred to the judicial authority for legal proceedings.
He highlighted the protection of aquatic ecosystems and the prevention of illegal harvesting of aquatic species as priorities for the environmental protection department, adding that patrols and monitoring by the environmental protection unit in the managed areas and water resources of the county will continue regularly, and any environmental violations will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
