According to the Mehrnews, and citing Al-Manar, Hezbollah Lebanon announced in a statement this Sunday evening, in response to the destruction and explosions in southern Lebanon: the forces of the occupying regime’s army have set fire to areas in southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah said this action is in line with the ongoing policy of destruction and turning these areas into places that are no longer livable. The group added that the Israeli enemy’s move to burn the forested areas of southern Lebanon—leaving them completely scorched and unfit for life—constitutes part of the continuation of environmental and developmental genocide, as well as the destruction of infrastructure and the theft of longstanding olive trees.
In its statement, Hezbollah Lebanon said: this environmental genocide is taking place while Lebanese officials are even unable to file a complaint or lawsuit against the Israeli enemy. It said officials have pledged not to bring any case against the enemy in international forums, and that has granted the enemy immunity; therefore, with confidence in immunity from punishment, the enemy continues its crimes.
Hezbollah further stated that these issues clearly show how the authorities are managing their negotiations, and to what extent they have given dangerous concessions, demonstrating their absolute incompetence in protecting Lebanon’s interests and their disregard for its fundamental rights.
At the end, Hezbollah called on the Lebanese government, the Ministry of Environment, and all relevant ministries and institutions to raise the voice of protest and act in a bid to halt this Israeli brutality against the environment, following the crimes the enemy carried out against citizens and infrastructure.
