According to KhabarOnline, Mohammad Reza Salami-Rik, the head of the Environmental Protection Department in Astara, stated that the birth of this red deer calf marks the first birth of the year for this species, with calf births expected to continue until mid-July. He noted the ongoing and round-the-clock monitoring by environmental enforcement officers, adding that a calm, safe, and standard environment has been created at the Landevil site to facilitate the breeding of this species.

Salami-Rik highlighted the importance of regular field monitoring, the involvement of trusted veterinarians, the construction of a fodder storage facility, and the provision of hay and concentrates for the colder seasons as key measures taken to enhance and increase the population of red deer.

The head of the Environmental Protection Department in Astara emphasized the effectiveness of technical and expert measures, stating that the biological condition of the red deer at the Landevil site is favorable, and an increase in the population of this important species is anticipated this year. He concluded by discussing the biological characteristics of the red deer, noting that it is the largest deer and the largest hoofed herbivore in Iran. The mating season for this species lasts from mid-September to mid-October, with a gestation period of approximately 240 days, typically resulting in the birth of one calf per delivery.
