According to the Mehrnews, a fire broke out in a section of the forested areas of the Khibous region, engulfing approximately two thousand square meters of the area’s woodland. Upon the announcement of the fire, the Basij forces from the Jawad al-Aimah (AS) sector in the Kaslian area, personnel from the Natural Resources Department of North Savadkuh, and local volunteers promptly arrived at the scene to initiate firefighting and containment operations.
The location of the fire falls within the jurisdiction of North Savadkuh’s natural resources; however, due to its proximity to the cities of Savadkuh and Sari, the natural resources forces from Savadkuh also participated in the firefighting efforts. The swift action of the rescue teams and the cooperation of local residents helped to contain the fire before it spread to other parts of the Hyrcanian forests, minimizing the damage incurred.
The Hyrcanian forests, recognized as one of the country’s most valuable ecosystems, play a crucial role in preserving biodiversity and maintaining ecological balance. Protecting this natural heritage requires ongoing vigilance and collaboration from responsible agencies, along with the active involvement of the community.
