Colonel Moradi Sadegh announced in an interview with Mehrnews that the fire had a human origin and that only the dry leaves and remnants on the forest floor were burned. He added that immediately after receiving the report, the natural resources forces of Marzanabad, along with the commander of the protection unit of Chalous County, arrived at the scene and began firefighting operations. The participation of the residents of Mars and neighboring villages was very effective in controlling the fire, which was completely contained around 8 PM.
The commander of the protection unit of the Natural Resources General Directorate emphasized that the area affected by the fire was estimated to be about two thousand square meters, and fortunately, no serious damage was inflicted on standing trees. Additionally, two teams from the natural resources forces are on standby at the site for continuous monitoring of the area and to prevent any re-ignition of the fire. He concluded by urging citizens to report any smoke or fire in natural areas through the numbers 1504 and 139.
