According to the Mehrnews, Farzad Zandi announced this news to the media in Kurdistan on Saturday morning, stating that the environmental protection unit of Kurdistan Province successfully identified and addressed several cases of illegal hunting during their continuous patrols and monitoring of habitats and managed areas over the two-day holiday. He added that these operations were carried out in collaboration with the protection units of various counties, resulting in the confiscation of 11 legal and illegal hunting firearms, over 80 rounds of military and hunting ammunition, as well as several carcasses of hunted birds.
The Director General of Environmental Protection in Kurdistan emphasized the ongoing supervisory activities of the protection unit, stating that the province’s rangers are continuously monitoring the areas even during holidays and will take decisive action against any illegal hunting and fishing violations. Zandi highlighted the importance of preserving wildlife and biodiversity in the province, asserting that legal action against environmental offenders is a priority for this directorate, and they will not allow personal interests to harm the nature and valuable habitats of Kurdistan.
He also expressed gratitude for the round-the-clock efforts of the province’s rangers, noting that cases against the arrested offenders have been filed and referred to the judicial authorities of the province for legal proceedings. In conclusion, the Director General of Environmental Protection in Kurdistan reiterated that the control and supervisory plans of the protection unit across the province, especially during holidays, will continue with greater diligence.
