According to KhabarOnline, Nasratollah Dehghani confirmed this news on Sunday, February 15, during a meeting on environmental issues in Fars. He stated that after two days of continuous surveillance and pursuit in the mountainous heights of Lamerd, our agents successfully identified the hiding place of four poachers. In the early hours of yesterday, as these individuals were exiting the area in their vehicle, the agents attempted to stop them. He added that the occupants of the vehicle not only ignored the agents’ signals to halt but also aggressively charged towards them at high speed. During this assault, one of the environmental guards was struck by the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. The suspects, in an effort to conceal evidence, threw a shotgun and some game meat out of the vehicle and fled the area.
According to KhabarOnline, the commander of the Fars Environmental Protection Unit noted the critical condition of the injured guard, stating that the wounded ranger was evacuated from the area with the help of his colleagues and, upon reaching an ambulance-accessible zone, was immediately transferred to the hospital for urgent medical treatment. Dehghani announced the identification of the suspects, emphasizing that, fortunately, through the intelligence and technical measures taken, the identities of two of these poachers had been established. A case against these individuals has been filed with the effective cooperation and support of the judiciary and referred to the judicial authorities. Efforts to apprehend them and identify two additional suspects are ongoing with determination.
In conclusion, he condemned this violent act, asserting that attacks on environmental protection agents while they are performing their duties are considered clear and security-related crimes, and the judicial and law enforcement authorities will take decisive action against the perpetrators.
