Zarivar (or Zeribar) Lake is 5 kilometers (3 miles) long and 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) long and while its water levels depend on the amount of rain or snow fall, it is 5.5 meters (18 feet) deep at most. Situated 3 kilometers (1.8 miles) west of Marivan in the Province of Kurdistan, the fresh water lake is covered with ice for the most part of winter.
Most of the Zarivaar Lake’s water is supplied by the Cham-Zarivaar River, rainfall and natural spring discharges. The Marivan River stems from the Zarivaar Lake.
The Lake is one of the amazing tourist attractions in Kurdistan Province, situated at an altitude of 818 meters (2,683 feet), it has remained a tranquil spot.
